Malaysia expatriate loses memory, Bangladesh embassy searching for family

Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia has issued a notification to identify a Bangladeshi expatriate. “A Bangladeshi national, around 60 years old, lost his memory after suffering a stroke and is undergoing treatment at Johor Hospital Tanaka,” said a press release uploaded on the High Commission’s Facebook page on Wednesday.

He suffered a stroke somewhere in Jahurbaru in November 2023 and someone took him to Zahurbaru Hospital and later the hospital authorities shifted him to Hospital Tanaka. At present, he has no memory, can not write or express anything.

Recently, the High Commissioner. When Shameem Ahsan came to his notice, the High Commissioner sent a representative to the hospital and inquired about him in detail. The hospital authorities requested the Bangladesh High Commission to identify the person as he has no memory, name, address, passport, mobile number, NID card or any information. Bangladesh High Commission has requested all citizens living in Malaysia as they could not uncover any information by trying to identify him in all possible ways.
