Bengali settlers attack hill people in support of rapist in Bangladesh: Several injured, Section 144 imposed

It is known that the incident took place on Tuesday (October 1, 2024) morning at Khagrachhari Technical School, and the college teacher (Instructor, building maintenance), Sohel Rana, lured a hill girl studying in class VII Show and called him. He then took the girl inside her room and locked the door. Keep it. On receiving the news, the hills students went to the teacher, Sohel Rana, in the afternoon and were Rescued from the room. The victim, Sohel Rana, said he raped her.
Later, the students demanded the arrest and punishment of teacher Sohel Rana. Take a position there.

Meanwhile, when the news spread, students from different neighborhoods appeared before the technical gate; in this case, a group of settlers at around 2:45 pm Armed with sticks and sharp weapons demanded the arrest of rapist Sohel Rana. The hill students also attacked the people. There is a chase-counter-chase between the two things that happen. At that time, a student was injured in the eye by the settlers. Several others were also reported injured.
The incident did not stop there. The settlers also tried to attack the Mahajan neighborhood. There, they allegedly vandalized and looted the shops of the hill people. At this time, Settlers on the way back from the market to Ujjal Marma, the servant of the ideal Buddhist monastery in South Khabongpujja, stabbed him in the back with a knife and inflicted severe injuries. He was later admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. The injured Ujjal Chakma hails from Panchhari upazila, reportedly in the Ultachari village of Logang.
Two residents of Mahajan Para were also injured in the brickbats hurled by the settlers. They are Kanta Moni Chakma, a former municipal councilor whose father’s name is Arun Kumar Chakma, and Shyamal Kanti Chakma, father-Bhujlal Chakma.

According to the latest reports, settlers have been trying to attack the Pankhaiya Para area since the afternoon. It is learned that the settlers set fire to the shops on the Khagrachari Sadar Bazar-Pankhaiya Para road. The mountaineers are also trying to resist.
It is to be noted that on February 25, 2021, a Hill student of Technical School and College Police arrested Sohel Rana and sent him to jail on charges of attempting to rape a student. At that time, he demanded exemplary punishment, including removal from the Technical School and College. The students staged a massive protest. He was later released on bail from jail. Recruitment is done in Technical Schools and Colleges. But the students reassigned him, and he didn’t accept it.
