Hasnat-Sargis Withdrew High Court Writ Petitions

Shargis Alam and Abul Hasnat (Hasnat Abdullah) have decided not to file a writ petition to prevent 11 political parties, including the Awami League, from participating in political activities.
At the same time, the writ petition on the legality of the last three parliamentary elections (10th, 11th, and 12th) was also not continued.
The HC bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim.
The court dismissed the writ petitions as they had not been placed before.
Deputy Attorney General Nur Muhammad Azmi and Akhter Hossain Md Akhtar Hossain stood for the state. Abdul Wahab.
Shargis Alam, Abul Hasnat (Hasnat Abdullah), and Hasibul Islam filed two separate writ petitions with the High Court.
One of the writ petitions sought interim directives prohibiting 11 parties, including the Awami League, from engaging in political activities. The writ petition alleged that these parties had been involved in indiscriminate killings, had destroyed democratic institutions, and had seized state power unconstitutionally through illegal means.
In a separate writ petition, a request was made to establish a legal framework prohibiting the invalidation of the 10th, 11th, and 12th parliamentary elections. Additionally, the petition sought to clarify the legal basis for declaring the gazettes issued for the elections held in 2014, 2018, and 2024 null and void.
