The Mother of Accused Georgia High School Shooter Has Criminal Records

The mother of the 14-year-old accused of killing four people at a Georgia high schoolhas a lengthy criminal record going back more than 17 years in four counties, according to court records.Colt Gray was charged with four counts of felony murder and will be tried as an adult after two students and two teachers were killed at Apalachee High School in Winder.
The victims were identified as Mason Schermerhorn, a 14-year-old student; Christian Angulo, a 14-year-old student; Richard Aspinwall, a teacher; and Christina Irimie, another teacher.
His father, Colin Gray, 54, was arrested Thursday in connection with the shooting and charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children.An arrest warrant affidavit for the father obtained by CNN states he allegedly gave his son an AR-15-style rifle “with knowledge he was a threat to himself and others.”
Marcee Ann Gray, 43, has faced prosecution in Barrow, Fulton, Forsyth and Ben Hill counties for charges including domestic violence, drug possession, property damage and traffic violations, multiple sources reported.
Her criminal record seemingly began in March 2007 on five vehicle-related misdemeanors for reckless driving, improper right turn and DUI, court records obtained by The Independent show.
In 2008, she pleaded guilty and paid a $600 fine before receiving 12 months probation and 40 hours of community service, according to court records in Fulton County. Her probation was completed in August 2010.
Additionally, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported an auto dealer sued her in 2019 for writing a bad check as a down payment.
Most recently, she was arrested on felony drug possession charges in November 2023 after police said she was caught in her car with a “glass jar with a crystal-like substance known to be methamphetamine”, according to an arrest warrant from Barrow County.
The warrant also included details such as her having a “red clear baggie with a powder substance known as fentanyl,” “a clear glass pipe used for the ingestion of narcotics,”cyclobenzaprine tablets in a baggie and putting someone else’s license plate on her vehicle.
